Virtualization started as a means for server consolidation in order to obtain better efficiency in IT infrastructure. The enhanced Fujitsu M10 servers feature the new SPARC64 X+ (pronounced 'ten plus') processors that can run at speeds of up to 3.7 GHz and offer 1.3 times the performance of the previous generation. The enhanced servers provide a high-performance, scalable platform for server consolidation and modernization projects. To date, Fujitsu M10 servers have set 15 world records in major benchmark tests.

Fujitsu and Oracle announced worldwide availability of enhanced Fujitsu M10-1, M10-4 and M10-4S servers equipped with the new SPARC64 X+ processor, which has 16 cores and runs at speeds up to 3.7 GHz, providing up to 30 percent more processing power than the previous SPARC64 X processor.
