Barclays Global Investors Bank on Sun [21348]
Purchase 3.18% Share of Sun Stock; Southeastern also Increases Investment
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reported Barclays Global Investors has bought enough Sun stock to take a 3.18 percent share in the company. This move followed on the heels of Sun's largest shareholder Southeastern Asset Management's decision to increase its stake in Sun from 21.5 percent to 22.3 percent. These SEC filings were completed during the first full week of February, reported Dawn Kawamoto for CNET News.

Financial Services Industry Leader Offers Experience in Managing Large Technical Operations
Rahul N. Merchant will be taking a seat on Sun's Board of Directors, the company announced, noting the former EVP, CIO, and executive committee member of Fannie Mae has managed some of the world's largest technology budgets and has first-hand knowledge of Sun's products and innovation roadmap. Merchant was nominated to join Sun's Board as part of the previously announced agreement with Southeastern Asset Management, Inc. to add two new independent members to Sun's Board of Directors.
