Running Solaris 11 as a Control Domain on a T2000 [28013]
Installing Logical Domains 1.2 Solves the Problem
As increasing numbers of users running older T1-processor-based systems like T1000 and T2000 upgrade to Solaris 11, there are few problems since Solaris 11 runs on any T-series or M-series SPARC server. One case presents an exception, however: running Solaris 11 in a control domain on a T1000 or T2000 hosting logical domains. Jeff Savit addresses this complication in his post that, in fact, proves Solaris 11 can be installed on T2000 servers and used as a control domain by removing the preinstalled Oracle VM Server for 2.2 and installing Logical Domains 1.2 - the last version of LDoms to support T1-processor systems.

VirtualBox 4.2
[27715]
A Fan's Notes
This is a love story about VirtualBox 4.2. Tim Hall says he has been "throwing some RAC, WebLogic and Cloud Control installations on it at home and its been coping just fine. Im especially loving the grouping stuff. Grouping [VMs]and collapsing the group is great!" He does cite one problem, which involves the disappearance of the interface when he dragged one Windows VM (with two virtual disks) into a group. This was rectified by resorting to the Virtual Media Manager to delete the reference to the so-called missing disk and then adding it once again by re-selecting the file from the file system.
