The Sun StorageTek Automated Cartridge Systems Library Software (ACSLS) version 8.0 comes with a Web-based GUI for library management and control, logical libraries for partitioning, SCSI Media Changer Fibre Channel (FC) front end interface to logical libraries, backward compatibility, and supports 8-character volume labels. Sun StorageTek ACSLS software offers comprehensive and scalable monitoring, management, sharing and data protection.
Sun announced the Sun StorageTek Library Attach E-Fulfillment for Windows Client v1.4.2, which provides the capability to download Library Attach client software and offers an alternative method for customers to order the software. Sun StorageTek Library Attach (LibAttach) software expands the manageability of ACS Library Software (ACSLS) to Windows-based clients, offering customers a more flexible solution for managing Sun StorageTek tape libraries in an open-systems environment.
Sun QFS and Sun Storage Archive Manager (SAM) 5.0 software is now available. The SAM-QFS environment includes a storage and archive manager along with Sun QFS file system software, which is a high-performance file system, ensuring that data is available at device-rated speeds when requested by one or more users. This latest release offers easier administration features along with more management tools, Solaris feature integration, performance features, scalability features, and more supported storage.
The Sun StorageTek SL3000 Tape Library now offers the Access Expansion Module (AEM) as an option for customers needing higher availability and scalability. The AEM provides users with the ability to non-disruptively service a downed robot in the SL3000 library for increased availability of the library - especially important for customers requiring no downtime in their operations. This new option also has 234 CAP slots for bulk load and unload of media.
