Java Champion Fabiane Bizinella Nardon who represented last year's Duke's Choice award winner, the City of São Paulo Integrated Patient Scheduling System, recently discussed a ground breaking application that uses Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) technology to link patients to their caregivers through their cell phones.

Sun and TeraMedica Help Improve Patient Safety and Quality of Care
Solution Allows Access to Clinical Digital Content via Patient's EHR

There is now a solution that enables caregivers to securely share patient-centric digital content electronically over the network. Evercore from TeraMedica on the Sun Java Composite Application Platform Suite (CAPS) allows physicians to attach medical images to a patient's existing electronic health record (EHR) and then access them from the desktop.
