Jini Technology Goes to Apache
Sun Hopes Open Source Will Revitalize the Architecture

Jini technology is being revitalized, reports Jim Hurley, community lead for Jini.org, who revealed that Sun Microsystems is handing the architecture over to Apache, making it a more open and accessible technology and eliminating the perception that the Jini Community is a closed society by changing the licensing structure from SCSL to open source.

Sun Center of Excellence Slated for India
Sun Microsystems, Wipro Technologies Sign New Pact

Sun and Wipro Technologies have agreed on plans to establish the first Sun Center of Excellence for the Sun Java Enterprise System in India. With this move, Wipro extends its 17-year-long relationship with Sun. Most recently Wipro became a global migration partner for the Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS).
