Sun and Oracle Announce Database Packs Offers Oracle Database 10g on Sun Fire x64 Servers
Sun and Oracle have announced Database Packs that offer pre-configured infrastructure solutions to help customers with rapid and successful deployments. These configurations are aimed at providing cost-effective, high performance and enterprise-level reliability at price points for the small- and medium-sized business.
These Database Packs jointly offered by Sun and Oracle consist of:
Entry-level Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition One for small businesses
Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition for medium-sized businesses
Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition and Oracle Real Application Clusters for businesses that demand 24x7 application availability
This solution also includes the Sun N1TM Service Provisioning System (N1 SPS) model for Oracle Database and Oracle Application Server. With the N1 SPS model and Database Packs, customers of all sizes can reduce the time, effort and cost required to deploy scalable grids.
