Lionbridge's VeriTest testing division recently conducted performance testing services for Sun to produce an independent report on the SunTM Secure Application Switch - N2000 Series. As an independent expert, VeriTest was selected to validate the performance of this switch's SSL Security, Layer 7 Application Switching and Layer 4 Load Balancing.

According to VeriTest, the Sun Secure Application Switch - N2000 Series produced the following performance levels:

• In excess of 56,000 Layer 7 connections per second and over 2.2 Gbps of Layer 7 throughput
• Greater than 12,500 SSL connections per second and over 2.1 Gbps of encrypted throughput
• More than 208,000 Layer 4 connections per second

VeriTest used Ziff Davis Media's WebBench 5.0 benchmark application to facilitate the test. WebBench measures how different hardware systems perform as Web servers, as well as measures Web server throughput performance.
