Will Extend Multi-Platform Managed Services Offerings

Sun's acquirement of SevenSpace will broaden its Sun Managed Services offerings to include heterogeneous environments that will add support for Hewlett-Packard's legacy HP-UX, IBM's AIX systems, Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux. This recently announced agreement will position SevenSpace as an integral part of Sun Services.

SLAC Sets Record in SCInet Bandwidth Challenge

A new world record aggregate bandwidth peak of 101.13Gbps has been set by a team led by the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), CalTech and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratories (FNAL) using Sun Fire V20z servers based on the AMD Opteron processor running the Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS) and Linux.
