A1000 and A3500 Disk Array Upgrade Promotions
Upgrade to 90 or 180 GB A3500 or 35 GB A1000

There are many disk storage upgrades that allow you to trade in old Sun or non-Sun (i.e. competitive) storage products for new Sun storage systems. In particular, Sun is offering the following promotion until March 1, 1999.

Sun Customers with:

  • Sun SPARCstorage Array 1xx or 2xx with 25+ GB or 40+ GB of disk
  • Sun MultiPacks with 10+ GB of disk

Can up grade those storage products to:

  • 90 GB StorEdge A3500 array for about $61k
  • 180 GB StorEdge A3500 array for about $106k
  • 36 GB StorEdge A1000 array for about $7.8k

90-GB Sun StorEdge A3500 array, includes one controller module and five disk trays with 9 GB, 10000-rpm disks (minimum configuration, 1 x 5 x 9 GB) mounted in Sun StorEdge 72-inch expansion cabinet with two 12-meter UltraSCSI cables

180-GB Sun StorEdge A3500 array includes two controller modules and seven disk trays with 9 GB, 10000-rpm disks (minimum configuration, 2 x 7 x 9 GB) mounted in Sun StorEdge 72-inch expansion cabinet with four 12-meter UltraSCSI cables
