Price reductions and new parts are now available for all customers on selected Sun StorEdgeTM 3000 family product arrays. These storage arrays have an open and flexible architecture, and these latest updates will add to their flexibility in price as well as proximity between themselves and their respectable servers.
Price changes have been applied to the Sun StorEdgeTM 3310 SCSI array, Sun StorEdgeTM 3510 FC array and Sun StorEdgeTM 3511 FC array with SATA. All Sun customers can take advantage of these cost reductions and will be allowed to apply other Sun promotions previously offered on these products.
Special promotional pricing for Education and Research institutions is also being offered on the following arrays:
- Sun StorEdge 3511 FC array, 1250 GB (5 x 250 GB RPM SATA disks) with 2 RAID controllers, 1 GB cache and 2 AC power supplies. Includes Sun StorEdge Configuration Service software. Education promotional price $17,995 through December 31, 2004.
- Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI array, 876 GB (12 x 73-Gbyte 10K RPM disks) w/2 Ultra160 SCSI HW RAID controller, 512 MB std cache per controller, 2 AC power supplies, and Sun StorEdge Configuration Service. Education promotional price $13,995 through December 1, 2004.

These cables are ideal for most SCSI HBAs (host bus adapters) and servers with onboard SCSI ports that use VHDCI connectors.
Plus, customers wanting to reconfigure their Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI or 3510 FC arrays by reducing the number of controllers, can now purchase a new x-option filler panel from Sun to cover empty controller slots.
