OpenOffice.org, now used by millions throughout the world, has a
conference of its own, OOoCon 2004, where you can meet the community of
developers, users, and businesses that are contributing to this
invaluable open source solution.
Organizers are soliciting papers from the broad OpenOffice.org
community in the areas of software politics, the Open Source movement,
and corporate involvement in OpenOffice.org, as well as papers on
Development, Localization and Marketing of OpenOffice.org. The
conference will also include an exhibition space.
The conference will cover the following OpenOffice.org topics organized
in two tracks:
General:
- General Usage and Features
- Business and Government
- Marketing
- The Community
- Open Source
Development:
- Software Development Kit
- Standards (especially XML)
- Localization
- Porting
- QA
The general sessions will talk about lessons learned during migration
and deployment, the OpenOffice.org roadmap and Open Source philosophy.
Topics for developers cover the overall process, QA, porting and
localization, as well as the Software Development Kit.
The conference is set for September 22-24, 2004 at Humboldt
University in Berlin, Germany.
