Volume 77, Issue 2

Supporting strategically selected academic institutions worldwide in order to develop the automotive life cycle management (PLM) team of the future is the mission of Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE). PACE links corporations such as Sun, General Motors, EDS and UGS PLM Solutions together to develop an integrated, parametrics-based approach to all aspects of a product's life - from its design inception, through its manufacture, marketing, distribution, maintenance and, ultimately, into recycling and disposal.

Besides educational contributions from PACE Partners, other corporations contribute valuable products and services to PACE Institutions and are noted as Pace Contributors and Supporters.

Currently, PACE projects include Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)/Simulation, 3D Plant Layout, Product Data Management (PDM) -- Supply Chain Management, Digital Collaboration and Digital Design.
