Sun Developer Network Facilitates Community Involvement
Membership and Promotional Offers Aim to Entice Developers

The SunSM Developer Network is offering two new membership levels along with two developer promotions. This announcement is part of the Sun initiative to keep developers on JavaTM technology's cutting edge and provide them with access to Java technology products, programs, information, tools and equipment.

The new membership options include the Sun Developer Network Standard and Sun Developer Network Professional that offer developers access to an array of tools, products and programs at a cost of USD$99 or USD$699 per developer per year, respectively. The Standard membership level provides a complete program experience to help developers successfully build Web applications in minutes, while the Professional level includes additional premium content and support elements. As part of the developer promotions, Apple aficionados can download a free version of the Sun JavaTM Studio Creator for Mac OS X under a Sun Developer Network subscription that is included with the purchase of an Apple 15- or 17-inch PowerBook.

The second promotion offers a free high performance SunTM AMD Opteron processor-based workstation for new Sun Developer Network members who purchase a three-year Sun JavaTM Studio Enterprise software subscription for USD$1499 per year. This promotion includes:

  • Sun Opteron Processor-Based Workstation: The w1100z is one of the fastest, highest performing mini-tower workstations in the industry that simultaneously supports developing and testing 64-bit and 32-bit applications.
