Sun is partnering with iWay Software to deliver intelligent integration adapters to Sun JavaTM Enterprise System customers. As part of the contract, iWay Software will provide optimized adapters for connectivity to mission-critical back-end systems using the Sun JavaTM System Application Server 7 or 8.

The iWay Integration adapters are designed to lower the TCO of applications built with Sun tools by reducing the amount of hand-cooled connections needed between disparate systems. Sun developers will benefit from easy integration with outside IT assets by using iWay Software's Universal Adapter Framework. The adapters are capable of reusable access to important information assets, while supporting standards like the J2EETM Connector Architecture and Web Services Interoperability (WS-I).

"Integrating disparate systems is one of the biggest IT challenges that businesses face today," says Mark Bauhaus, vice president, Java Web Services for Sun. "Our alliance with iWay Software to provide simplified integration solutions for the Java Enterprise System platform aims to reduce the complexity of accomplishing this business and IT goal."

iWay adapters can be used to integrate IT assets including PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, Oracle, Tibco, WebSphere MQ, Microsoft Messaging Queuing (MSMQ), CICS, IMS and BEA Tuxedo. iWay offers a complete reusable infrastructure for EAI, B2B, e-commerce, mobile business and e-government.

"We find that nearly every large enterprise uses Sun technologies," says John Senor, president of iWay Software. "Developers use Sun tools to build integral applications that run businesses across the globe. We are very happy to partner with one of the world's leading technology providers to help businesses expedite the creation and deployment of their mission critical applications." [...read more...]
