releasing the Sun Infrastructure Solution for N1 Grid for SAP
Solutions. This mix of products, technologies and services expertise is
designed to assist SAP customers with the optimization of their SAP
solutions-based environment infrastructure, which should result in
significant cost savings.
The Sun Fire V20z server has shown itself capable of running SAP
applications faster than systems from HP, Dell, Hitachi and Fujitsu
Siemens with a 2-way world record for the two-tier SAP Sales and
Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark.
Implementing the Sun Java Enterprise System has enabled Sabre
Airline Solutions to reduce the cost to its customers by as much as 50
percent for using the Sabre Airline Solution's application service
provider (ASP) portal offering, the Sabre eMergo Web-enabled and
dedicated network solutions.
Sun has received the 10th-annual Network Computing Well-Connected
"Infrastructure" Award for its Nauticus Networks N2000 Series Secure
Application Switch. Sun also collected the Infrastructure of the Year
award for its N2000 Switch from the editors of the magazine. Sun hopes
the awards will further signal the company's dominance in providing
effective network technologies.
Sun is hosting the Webcast "Sun / Microsoft Interoperability" that
highlights present interoperable offerings in the areas of directory
and identity, messaging and calendaring, and provisioning and

review. The JSR is designed to correct the problems discovered in the

Sun and the mobile Java technology provider Developnet are working
to bring interactive capabilities to the BBC (British Broadcasting
Corporation) through mobile Java technology. The BBC recently launched
a live interactive game show that is the first BBC game show to allow
viewers to interact via their mobile phones with the help of a Java
technology application.
Sun has issued a security alert for the Java runtime environment
remote Denial of Service (DoS). Recommended resolution is upgrading to
SDK and JRE 1.4.2_04 or later releases to prevent an unresponsive
denial of service that could be caused by a remote attack. Downloads

A flaw in Check Point VPN-1 products during negotiation of a VPN
tunnel may cause a buffer overrun, potentially compromising the
gateway. Although there have been no reports of systems
affected by this vulnerability, Check Point is recommending that customers
install an update on all enforcement modules to protect VPN-1
Gateways.
