Sun Releases Hardware Certification Test Suite Version 2.3
Verifies Compatability with Solaris Operating System (x86 Platform Edition)
Independent hardware vendors (IHVs), system manufacturers, system
integrators and end users can test their hardware to verify its
compatibility with the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) (x86
Platform Edition) with Sun's Hardware Certification Test Suite (HCTS).
The latest version, 2.3, contains new features such as an improved user
interface.

Select UltraSPARC III Uniboards EOL'd
750 MHz and 900 MHz UltraSPARC III Uniboards Effected
Sun plans to EOL (End of Life) its 750 MHz UltraSPARC III Uniboards
and selected 900 MHz UltraSPARC III Uniboards. Sun expects the move to
result in a more simplified portfolio of product offerings, which will
retain the same level of performance, features and flexibility.

Sun Ends Separate Power Distribution System Option
Component will Continue to be Available Pre-installed
Sun is doing away with the option that allowed customers to order a
Power Distribution System (PDS) and install it in the Sun Rack cabinet.
Previously, customers had the option of ordering the PDS as a
pre-installed option in the rack, or ordering the PDS separately and
completing a self-installation.
