Sun Finances Promotions for UltraSPARC III Processor-based Servers
Get Some Interest Free Payments or Two Months Free

Sun Microsystems Finance is offering two promotions to help customers adopt UltraSPARCR IV technologies as they become readily available in CYQ2 2004. One is a 50 percent down deal on the Sun FireTM 4800 systems and Sun FireTM 6800 systems, and the other offer is called the "Two Payments on Us" Lease Option.

UltraSPARCR III Processor "50/50+5" Offer

Purchase a Sun Fire 4800 system or a Sun Fire 6800 system, with the UltraSPARC III processor, for 50 percent down with the remaining 50 percent due in 12 months. From the sixth month onward, customers have the option to acquire an UltraSPARC IV processor upgrade kit, and spread the cost over five interest-free payments, or roll the balance into a leasing plan.

UltraSPARC III Processor "Two Payments on Us" Lease Option

Get a 24-month below market rate lease for UltraSPARC III processor-based Sun Fire 4800 and 6800 systems. As part of this promotion, Sun will pay the first two monthly payments for the customer. Customers can also acquire an UltraSPARC IV processor upgrade kit at any time after the sixth month with no interest.

Both plans are available in the U.S. through Sun sales and Sun authorized iForceSM Partners. Offers expire June 30, 2004. All transactions subject to Sun Microsystems Finance credit and/or investment approval.

"Financing is becoming a necessary component to competitive bids around the world regardless of economic conditions, particularly for customers concerned about technology obsolescence and total lifecycle solutions," said Kris Snow, senior director of Sun Microsystems Finance. "Sun has seen an increase in financing needs from customers and potential customers that are looking to finance for a broad range of reasons including better cash-flow management and as a strategic part of their technology refresh program. Sun's financing capabilities are designed to provide value, reduce complexity, and enable innovation for our customers."

Intuit, the online financial services company that produces Quicken, QuickBooks and Turbo Tax, notes the benefits of working with Sun Microsystems Finance: "For Intuit, it's been the willingess of Sun Microsystems Finance to put together unique programs with creative terms that met our specific requirements," said Ike Schneider, director of Enteprise Computing at Intuit. "As we learned in our extensive search for a financing source, price and flexibility are equally imperative when choosing a financing solution. Business factors change, and if we want to shorten or lengthen our product refresh cycles, with Sun Microsystems Finance we can."
