Sun Scores Wins Over Three Months One-dozen Highlighted from the Hundreds
Sun has chosen to highlight twelve of the hundreds of customers who
have chosen Sun solutions over the past three months. The dozen
includes:
China Ministry of Railways: Turned to Sun for assistance in building
and deploying an application services platform for the company's
three-way dispatching system.
EPL Inc.: Chose Sun FireTM V880 servers and Sun FireTM 280R servers, Sun RayTM
appliances, and Sun StorEdgeTM 6320 systems to power Oracle9i
Collaboration Suite applications.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA): Chose the Sun Ray thin-client
solution for its low cost to buy and manage, hot desking features,
increased security and reduced energy requirements.
Hughes Network Systems: Selected Sun to supply computer systems and
software for the network operations center requirements of its new
SPACEWAY satellite system.
Lodgian: Worked with Sun to develop a high performing, highly
available and scalable storage infrastructure.
Motorola (Polska): Turned to Sun for assistance in migrating and
consolidating its data to a Sun StorEdgeTM 9970 system.
The Research Foundation of State University of New York: Turned to
Sun Services and Sun Finance for help in consolidating its server and
storage environments.
Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research: Sun helped to reduce
the cost, training and work required to establish a research
infrastructure
Swedbank: Looked to Sun for help with powering its Net Trading
applications and test environment.
University of Louisiana at Lafayette: Recently turned to Sun for a
low-cost system to incorporate into its compute farm.
University of New Brunswick: Recently implemented a high-performance
x86 computing cluster. The solution was built on Sun Fire servers and
SunSM Services.
World Book Inc.: Will use Sun's per-employee pricing model and run
the Sun JavaTM Enterprise System on Sun Fire servers.
