Sun Services to Resell Sanctum's AppShield and AppScan
Security Testing Tools

SunSM Services will resell Sanctum's AppShield and AppScan product families to customers worldwide. Sanctum helps ensure that companies' Web application security vulnerabilities are proactively addressed.

AppShield

AppShield is a key component of Sun's iForceSM Perimeter Security Solutions and a recommended addition to its Secure Web Server Solution. It identifies the legitimate requests made of an e-business site and permits only those actions to take place, enforcing the Web and business logic of the site, maintaining application behavior 24x7 without the need for signatures or rules.

AppScan

Sanctum's AppScan security testing tool provides accelerated, automated testing of security vulnerabilities. It covers the widest array of attack variants to test both new and existing infrastructures. It reduces security defects before Web applications are deployed in a live production environment. AppScan enables enterprise users to deploy applications quickly, reduce deployment costs, improve resource allocation, assure compliance and minimize risk.

"Teaming with Sanctum enables our customers to operate their Web infrastructure with more confidence," said Ed Glover, director of security consulting, Sun Services. "With the addition of Sanctum's solutions, Sun Services can better help customers ensure the security of their Web applications from development through deployment."

Sanctum has worked with Sun to develop a powerful, scalable family of Web application firewall appliances based on Sun FireTM servers and the SolarisTM Operating System (Solaris OS). Sanctum is also a member of Sun's iForceSM community, working collaboratively with Sun and its partners to create and deliver customer-driven solutions that leverage the network to improve business processes.

"Sun Services clearly has the experience in working with some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the world and understands the challenges these customers face in deploying their most critical applications across the Internet," said Steve Orrin, CTO of Sanctum. "By combining Sun's leadership in network computing technologies and service expertise with Sanctum's award-winning products, customers will ultimately benefit from having the most powerful, flexible and secure Web infrastructure in the marketplace. We're delighted to team with Sun to bring these joint solutions to bear for customers." [...read more...]
