In response to the latest security vulnerability in the Microsoft
Windows operating system, the MSBlast Internet worm, Sun is opening
early registration of Project Mad Hatter. Project Mad Hatter, to be
formally launched in September at the SunNetwork Conference, is an
open standards-based desktop from Sun that offers enterprise customers
a secure and cost-effective desktop alternative to Microsoft Windows.
It includes all the desktop applications necessary to migrate users off
the Windows and Office platforms and onto a more secure and stable
platform.

members to its Board of Directors. Newly-elected members include John
Borras of the United Kingdom Office of e-Envoy and Eduardo Gutentag of
