Sun Chosen to Develop High Productivity Computing System
DARPA Awards Contract Worth $50 Million
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), in conjunction
with the Department of Interior, has awarded funding to Sun for Phase
II of the High Productivity Computing Systems (HPCS) Program. This
portion of the project focuses on research and development that will
lead to a high performance computing system capable of delivering high
programmer productivity.

The EDA Consortium's Market Statistics Service
EDA Revenue Shows Overall First Quarter Decline
The EDA Consortium's Market Statistics Service (MSS), a timely
barometer of quarterly revenue and employment data, has estimated first
quarter 2003 revenues for the electronic design (EDA) industry at $908
million. This figure comes in six percent below the same quarter (Q1)
2002, but remains an improvement on the recent Q4 2002 13 percent
year-over-year decline.

Sun and Waveset Partner on an Integrated Identity Management Solution for PeopleSoft
Secure Lifecycle Management of Workforce
Sun is partnering with Waveset Technologies, a provider of identity
management solutions, to provide an integrated, standards-based
identity management solution for use with PeopleSoft applications. The
first part of the development sequence is designed to allow business
process integration between Human Capital Management and IT
security/identity management.

list. Availability of the drives had been continued with existing
supplies through the Data Center Customer Investment Protection program,
but that is no longer possible since the manufacturer has ceased
production.
