The physical size (full rack width, 2U form factor), high
capacities/throughputs and pricing of the Sun StorEdge L8 tape
autoloaders will appeal to a broad range of industries, including
small- to mid-sized businesses, workgroup/departmental IT
organizations and corporate IT organizations looking to standardize
backup systems for their remote offices and applications. Options that
must be ordered separately include a barcode reader and rackmount kit.
Whether users are installing a first tape solution or upgrading from a
single tape device, they will find the Sun StorEdge L8 Tape Autoloader
an excellent entry-level tape automation solution. The eight-cartridge
capacity allows users to store a week's worth of data or to run a
database of up to 525 GB. Since data backup is done automatically, the
need for daily tape loading is eliminated. Leveraging the robust
performance and size of the tape drive units, the Sun StorEdge L8
autoloaders are ideal for entry-level backup and restore in a single
server environment.
In order to receive the upgrade to the latest
release of licenses and media kits for VERITAS NetBackup and Sun
