Sun Makes Top Ten in DM Review
Reader Survey of the Business Intelligence Market
December 20, 2002,
Volume 58, Issue 3

DM Review 100 has ranked Sun as one of the top ten vendors in its list covering the business intelligence (BI) market. The annual reader survey from DM Review consists of the 100 vendors that received the highest total score from readers based on three equally weighted metrics: product quality, market share and customer satisfaction.

"Sun's rank as part of the top ten BIDW leaders is a result of the many companies who widely choose Sun's spectrum of programs, partners and products," said Jean Schauer, Editor in Chief of DM Review. "We congratulate Sun on the great momentum they've had with DM Review readers and companies that design and develop business intelligence, data warehousing, analytic and CRM applications." Sun was previously number 45 in 2001 and has moved up to the number eight position in 2002.

The IDC states the BI market is a $6.4B market space. Over 500 enterprise implementations worldwide are based on Sun's Business Intelligence Data Warehousing (BIDW) offerings.

"These rankings illustrate that our BIDW offerings are gaining tremendous market momentum, including jointly developed solutions with partners," said Ravi Pendekanti, director of solutions marketing at Sun. "Our customers are leveraging our "open" approach in the development of best-in-class BIDW solutions. In addition, we are working with more than 50 percent of the top 20 vendors in the DM Review 100."
