Sun to Incorporate InfiniBand-based Platforms
Into Future Systems and Blade Servers

Sun will incorporate the open interface standard of InfiniBand's high-speed switch fabric architecture which offers advanced features for I/O interconnect into future server, software and storage products. Future InfiniBand-based platforms are expected to include Sun's next-generation, horizontally scalable blade servers expected in 2004 and future vertically scalable enterprise servers.

Holds 54.6 Percent Share of Market in Third Quarter

Sun Microsystems garnered more than half the Asia South RISC/UNIX server market in unit shipment and revenue terms in the third quarter. According to International Data Corp.'s Q3 2002 Enterprise Server Tracker Report, Sun's revenue market share in the region -- which includes Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia -- rose to 54.6 percent in Q3 calendar year 2002.
