Sleuth9 Security System 3.0
Sits in Front of the Router

The Sleuth9 Security System version 3.0 is a network attack mitigation and intrusion prevention solution that instantly detects and automatically prevents cyber attacks from entering or leaving a network. The latest release includes new security features and functionality designed to stop sophisticated, blended cyber attacks including DoS, DDoS, Port Scans, trojan horses, propagating worms and viruses.

"Unlike other security solutions, Sleuth9 sits in front of the router and evaluates all network traffic at the packet level, both ingress and egress, to determine what is valid and what is malicious," stated Sue Dark, chief executive officer at DeepNines. "Because other network security systems sit behind the router they are automatically vulnerable to attacks."

New features of Sleuth9:

  • 100 percent Packet Inspection: Increases accuracy and detection by using signature, protocol and traffic anomaly detection

  • Active Mitigation and Prevention: Sits inline, in front of the router, actively blocks malicious traffic and writes it to the Sleuth9 ForensiX database

  • IP Spoofing Prevention: Constantly analyzes key indicators such as byte, packet and connection rates to identify and prevent IP spoofing based attacks

  • Zero Footprint Technology (ZFT): Invisible to the network and removes the complexity of installation, setup, administration and configuration processes that can cause vulnerabilities

  • Adaptive Rate Control: Administrator may apply settings to customize traffic profiles and performance specific to the network

  • Self Monitoring Intelligence (SMI): Real-time snapshot of various internal elements and the system's current health

  • IPv6 Solution: Will interoperate with current and emerging protocol standards, enabling customers to migrate securely to IPv6

  • ForensiX Capture Database: Long term trend and traffic analysis at very granular levels identifying abusive behavior and malicious trends, optimizing bandwidth and maximizing security

The Sleuth9 Security System runs on any SolarisTM 8 Operating Environment (SPARCR Platform Edition) Sun UltraSPARCR machine with 2 processors, 4 MB of L2 Cache Memory, 3 SunFastEthernetTM Network Interface Cards, and 2 GB RAM memory.
