Sun Grows Sequential Revenue
In Total Server Market

According to IDC's worldwide quarterly server tracker for 2Q02, Sun bolstered its total market position in both revenue and shipments compared to last quarter. Sun also maintains its lead in the UNIX systems market with over 78,000 units shipped and $1.750 billion in revenue. Across the total server market, Sun increased its revenue by 11 percent and 13 percent in shipments quarter-over-quarter.

Java Card Technology Implemented in Taiwan's Health System
Sun Technology Powers Secure Solution

The Bureau of National Health Insurance of Taiwan (BNHI) has successfully began a rollout of 22 million Java Card technology-powered IC (Integrated Circuit) health cards to Taiwan citizens in July, replacing its original paper-based system. Important data recorded on the card can only be accessed when the security key codes of both the doctor's and patient's cards are mutually authenticated to avoid privacy violation.
