The Trusted SolarisTM 8 AnswerBookTM software collection of documentation includes many resources, such as an administration overview, a developer's guide and a Trusted Solaris software user's guide.

The Trusted Solaris software Administration Overview provides an overview of basic concepts needed to administer Trusted Solaris software. There is a tour of the tools available in the Trusted Solaris software environment, noting how they are accessed and the databases on which they operate. Also covered is an overview of how networking is implemented in the Trusted Solaris software environment, the tools for administering networking and the basics of performing auditing in the Trusted Solaris software environment.

The Trusted Solaris software Developer's Guide describes how to use the programming interfaces to write new trusted applications for Trusted Solaris software. Readers should know UNIXR systems programming and understand security policy concepts. The first two chapters present an overview of the Trusted Solaris programming interfaces, show how security policy is enforced, how to retrieve security attribute information for file systems and processes, and how to use the Trusted Solaris security mechanisms.

The Trusted Solaris software User's Guide is a guide to operating in the Trusted Solaris 8 software environment. As a prerequisite, you should be familiar with the SolarisTM 8 Operating Environment (Solaris OE) and the Common Desktop Environment (CDE). You should also be familiar with the security policy of your organization. Chapters in the User's Guide include:
