The family of High Availability (HA) Service Packs for the Sun FireTM
15K Server includes the core set of integrated services and
methodologies recommended to help provide optimum levels of
availability throughout the application life cycle. With HA Service
Packs, customers will be better equipped to address availability issues
before they impact business operations. Three variations of HA Service
Packs will now be available for the Sun Fire 15K Server.
Packaging the services offers convenience, a lower price and helps
simplify and shorten the decision process. The HA Service Packs are
integrated combinations of consulting, education and training, and
support services.
Three Variations
Multiple packs have been designed to include
server-centric and/or platform-centric services. Server-centric
services address specific activities as they relate to the server.
Platform-centric services
address activities beyond the server and focus on the overall
application environment.
- HA Pack (part number, HA-F15K-PAK): Designed to be purchased with a
Sun Fire 15K Server, this pack includes one year of platform and server
services deemed critical for achieving and maintaining a high level of
availability in a mission-critical environment.
- HA Server Pack (part number, HA-F15K-SYSPAK): Designed to complement
an HA Pack by providing server-only services for a multi-server
application environment (e.g., purchase an HA Pack, plus two HA Server
Packs to cover three Sun Fire 15K Servers).
- Three Year HA Pack (part number, HA-F15K-PAK-3YR): Designed to be
purchased
with a Sun Fire 15K Server, this pack provides the same level of
services as an HA PACK with extended coverage for three years.
The core IT functions and the respective services
each of these functions addresses include:
- Architect (life cycle phase): Sun's
unique, open systems-based IT service management know-how will be
extended to your organization throughout the entire life cycle of the
application.
- IT Operations Assessment (core IT function): The SunReadySM
Availability Assessment (SRAA) Service identifies gaps and assesses
risks in the customer's technical architecture and/or operational
environment for a particular application environment.
- IT Learning Development (core IT function): Sun Fire 15K Server Skills
Package offer core HA Service Packs including customized training solutions
based on each customer's unique requirements.
- Service Delivery Management (core IT function): Personalized support.
- Implement (life cycle phase): Full
installation support, from "out of the box" to a fully tested and
operational, production-ready environment.
- Installation and Platform Integration (core IT function):
The Application Readiness Service (ARS) in combination with
ServerStartSM for the Sun Fire 15K Server, provides services required to
configure a new Sun Fire 15K Server up to the point of application
installation.
- Configuration Check and Control (core IT function): Sun RAS Profile
service leverages highly effective analysis tools to show which areas
are most prone to downtime and why. A detailed analysis is performed;
recommendations are provided; and the account team works to help
prioritize and develop a related action plan.
Other functions and services include Mission-Critical Support,
SunSpectrum PlatinumSM Support and IT Operations
Assessment/post-implementation.
HA Services Packs are available globally in all three GEOs (Americas,
EMEA and APAC), depending upon local service constraints. Not all
services are available in all countries.
