    The new Sun Fire 15K Server, in combination with Sun StorEdge T3 Arrays, has demonstrated world record performance with the two-tier SAP-Standard Sales and Distribution (SD) Application benchmark. The server and the arrays supported 4,100 SAP-SD benchmark users with an average dialog response time of 1.88 seconds and 414,000 order line items per hour.

    FLUENT Fluid Dynamics Performance Benchmark

    The Sun Fire 15K Server outperformed a 1 GHz, 128-way IBM system by over 23 percent on the large FL5L1 dataset using FLUENT, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software application. In this test, the Sun Fire 15K Server demonstrated a 59x speedup on 72 CPUs, which shows near-linear scalability.
