Previewing and Testing Wireless Markup Language
September 17, 2001,
Volume 43, Issue 3

The SmartPhone Emulator Forte Module Edition is an adapted version of Yospace's core SmartPhone Emulator product, which emulates many of the world's leading WAP handsets. It is a tool for developers to preview and test Wireless Markup Language (WML) within the ForteTM for JavaTM environment. This enables developers to test WML code without a physical handset or across multiple handsets.

The article on the Sun web page, "Yospace SmartPhone Emulator: Previewing and testing WML in Forte for Java," discusses content development, creating a new package, creating a new WML page from template, viewing the WML file using the SmartPhone Emulator, editing the WML Page, handling errors and extending the application with a second WML page.

There is a trial version of the SmartPhone Emulator Forte Module Edition available for download that is helpful for following the discussion in the article.
