A new key web site link on the Sun Developer ConnectionSM web site is the JavaTM Wireless Developer Connection Program, which contains information, articles, code samples, tech tips, and resources for wireless developers.

Announcements include:

  • The JavaTM Smart Ticket sample application from JavaTM 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EETM) BluePrints for Wireless, illustrates how the J2EE interoperates with the JavaTM 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2METM) to create enterprise applications that serve mobile client devices, such as cell phones, two-way pagers, and palmtops.

  • Nextel's Open Windowing Toolkit contains classes for creating user interfaces for J2ME handsets.

  • JavaMobiles.com provides information on mobile phones enabled for the Java technology platform. It is updated when new mobile phones appear on the market.

Site highlights include:

  • Drawing Flicker-Free Graphics. Learn how to use the Image class to create a double bugger and draw flicker-free graphics.
