Sun has reported results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2001,
which ended April 1, 2001.
Revenues for the third quarter were $4.095 billion, up 2% compared with
the third quarter of fiscal 2000. Orders for the third quarter were
$3.612 billion.
Sun is strengthening its commitment to the Service Provider community by
extending the SunTone Certification and Branding Program and
introducing new initiatives to help companies architect, build, certify,
and go-to-market with web-enabled services that meet high industry
standards.
Sun has presented the first SunTone Awards to outstanding contributors to
the SunTone Certification and Branding program. Digex's Charles Boyle
received the SunTone Technical Champion Award for his individual
contribution to the architectural specifications of the SunTone program.
BellSouth received the SunTone Marketing Award for the company's

Sun has announced a price reduction for all Sun Enterprise 3500-6500
server 400MHz CPU/Memory and COD Building Blocks and COD RTUs. This
price reduction provides further incentive to the customer to move
