The ESG (Enterprise Strategy Group) report by Evan Quinn entitled "Oracle Exadata Covers the Bases" is, says blogger Javier Puerta, a helpful study of user experience with the subject solution. Quinn polled customers on several aspects of satisfaction with Exadata including database growth, performance, staff learning curve, cost, and vendor support. He also considered the efficacy of the Exadata solution in terms of four applications: data warehousing, OLTP, OLTP and data warehousing combined, and database consolidation. Quinn concludes that, as a result of the "maturity" of the Exadata solution and its clear value-add match to the IT use cases studied, Exadata will become, over the next 12 months, the industry leader, returning to Oracle a greater profit share than its pure cloud offerings.
