IDC Report: Java Thriving in Oracle's hands
Citing Various Developments in the Past Two Years, Oracle Gets Good Marks on Java Stewardship

IDC is of the opinion that, under Oracle, Java is thriving. At least that is the conclusion in the recent IDC report, "The State of Java: Two and a Half Years After the Acquisition." Among the evidence cited in the report in support of IDC's positive view are the delivery of Java SE 7; the road maps for Java EE 7 and Java SE 8; the caliber of vendors attracted to OpenJDK; and the increasing number of programming languages being hosted on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
