Following his appearance at the TUCON conference Soctt McNealy bemoaned the absence of a major corporate player standing behind open source in an interview with Alex Williams that is recorded on an 18-minute video. Too infrequently, he said, IT managers are not reckoning with the long-term costs of proprietary infrastructure before signing on the bottom line. McNealy also discusses his new venture, Wayin, a Denver-based social engagement service.
