Volume 175, Issue 1

Barbara Higgins has written a post that explains how to prepare a Sun ZFS Storage Appliance to serve as a storage library for a server pool using Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c. The procedure is divided into two sections:

Section One

From the Sun ZFS Storage Appliance's user interface, you do the following:

  • Configure the Sun ZFS Storage Appliance to use both the Fibre Channel protocol and the iSCSI protocol.
  • Create an account for Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center.

Section Two

Then from Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center, you do the following to manage the Sun ZFS Storage Appliance:

  • Create a discovery profile for the Sun ZFS Storage Appliance.
  • Discover the storage appliance, which creates a dynamic storage library.

There are specific steps for all four of these sections, which Higgins provides.
