javafxpackager Takes the Guesswork out of Which Version of Java to Use
Bundle Application, Its Resources and a Private Copy of the Java and JavaFX Runtimes

A long standing problem for developers is handily solved, Angela Calcedo blogs, with the advent of javafxpackager, which allows users to bundle an application along with its resources into a package that includes a private copy of the Java and JavaFX runtimes, together with a native application launcher. No more fretting about which version of Java to use since the application’s package includes everything it needs for execution. With its own private copy of Java and JavaFX runtimes, users don’t have to be concerned about breaking other applications, or asking clients to update the system to be able to run an application. The javafxpackager will generate zip files or native packages depending on the operating system on which your application will be running, she assures anxious developers in considerable detail during the course of her post. The native packaging capabilities described in the blog are available in JDK 7u6 and subsequent releases, she concludes.
