New Tutorial: Integrating JavaFX Charts into the NetBeans RCP
Part 1 Illustrates Use of Predefined Chart Feature for Dynamic Data Display

Volume 173, Issue 4

Integrating JavaFX Charts into the NetBeans RCP is part 1 of a generously illustrated tutorial developed by Geertjan Wielenga to enable users to exploit the capability of JavaFX's extensive set of predefined charts -- each of which can be animated -- to illustrate dynamic values as presented in chart form. He explains that, while the tutorial is created on Windows and, at least initially, supports the Windows use case, not all the long list of native libraries should be needed, though all are included as Wielenga explains he did not know at the time of writing which ones were actually needed. In future installments, Wielenga promises to deal with further issues, such as synchronizing the area chart with tables and other charts; incorporating the chart header into the table image; and testing the tutorial on a variety of operating systems.
