Simplified Oracle Database Installation on Oracle Linux

Installing the oracle-validated RPM can save time when installing Oracle Database 10g or 11g on Oracle Linux, according to Ginny Henningsen, who writes about her experience in simplifying Oracle Database installation. She finds that the RPM addresses most Oracle Database installation prerequisites and greatly simplifies the installation process. She describes the several pre-configuration steps that RPM performs and then outlines the steps involved in installing RPM.
