Oracle reported profitable fourth-quarter numbers with Sun hardware and support sales adding $1.8 billion in revenue.

A newly developed framework has been put into place to assist the 900 user groups, including OpenSolaris, now associated with Oracle and the International Oracle User Group Community (IOUC). The OpenSolaris project Sun Security Toolkit's (SST) history, goals, use cases, and future, were discussed in a June conference call. Oracle's policies with regard to open source and open standards recently were addressed.
