Former Sun employees now working for Oracle may be interested in the personalized online training their new employer does offer. In a question posed on Oracle Mix, an inquisitive newcomer gets a couple of hints from Oracle veterans.
The first responder suggests interested personnel check out Oracle iLearning. Oracle iLearning is an enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) and a core component of Oracle's E-Business Suite. Oracle iLearning provides a complete infrastructure for organizations to manage, deliver, and track training for online and classroom based environments. Use Oracle iLearning to:
- Consolidate training initiatives on a scalable, cost effective LMS
- Assemble and deliver learning content rapidly
- Deliver the optimal blend of classroom and online training
- Measure the effectiveness of training initiatives
- Integrate with an overall E-Business solution
According to the Oracle colleague, once at the iLearning site and after using Single Sign-On, employees should be able to access a myriad of technical and soft skills presentations. He also suggests staff explore through Global Self-Service or the Oracle University Website to see if there might be more training and courses of interest.
Another directive was presented, advising employees to go to the my.oracle.com > Self Service Apps (Needs Login) > Employee Self Service > Training Courses (Self). According to this advisor, employees can create their own personalized learning path, organize their online learning, and get information on all kinds of in-class learning schedules.
There are other useful tips and resources available from Oracle Mix, which is host to the Oracle community.
