MySQL on Windows continues to be a popular choice for independent software vendors, original equipment manufacturers, hosting providers and organizations developing custom web, departmental and enterprise applications. The MySQL Website has several resources on using the open source database software on Windows, including access to a free, technical webinar set for Jan. 21.
Entitled "Windows and MySQL: What's New in MySQL Connector/NET 6.2," this webinar will explore the new features in Connector/NET 6.2, which allows for the tracing of MySQL connections, a new logging system and client-side SSL certificates. This new functionality can be used to provide new capabilities such as instrumentation, metering, auditing, security and enhanced debugging within MySQL .NET applications. The presentation begins at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST/18:00 UTC and is expected to run about 45 minutes followed by a questions and answers segment.
