New Configurations for Sun Storage 7310 and 7110
Now Support Six-core AMD Opteron Processors

Sun Storage 7310 and 7110 now come with new configurations containing six-core AMD Opteron processors as part of the assemble to order (ATO) model. With ATO, customers will get a system fully assembled and tested with the additional components that were ordered at the time of purchase.

Main system features for:

Sun Storage 7310 Unified Storage System

  • Single controller and Cluster controller (2-node) option
  • Up to 2 Six-core CPUs per node, and up to 64GB RAM per node (128GB for cluster)
  • Up to 600GB of Read Flash Accelerator (Readzilla) per node
  • Up to 96 TB raw capacity
  • 4x10/100/1000 Ethernet per node
  • Redundant, Hot-Swap Power Supply
  • 1 RU (Single), 2 RU (Cluster) + 4 RU per JBOD
  • Warranty Term: 3yr (Hardware components)

The base configuration (for single and cluster) consists of:

  • One six-core processor with 16GB RAM (Additional RAM selected separately, up to 64GB per node)

Storage Array for Sun Storage 7310 System:

  • Options with 1, 2, and 4x 18GB Write Flash Accelerators (Logzilla)
  • 24-drive 4U Storage Array
  • Up to 4 expansion arrays, for up to 96 TB raw capacity

Storage 7110 Unified Storage System

  • 1 Six-core CPU, 8GB RAM
  • Up to 4.2 TB raw capacity
  • 4x10/100/1000 Ethernet per node
  • Redundant, Hot-Swap Power Supply
  • 2 RU
  • Warranty Term: 1yr (Hardware components)

Two base configurations:

  • One six-core processor with 8GB RAM, 14x146GB SAS Drives (2.0TB)
  • One six-core processor with 8GB RAM, 14x300GB SAS Drives (4.2TB)

End of Life for Four-core AMD Processors

Existing configurations using four-core AMD processors now have a last order date of January 29, 2010, and last ship date of April 30, 2010.
