Solaris 10 Security Deep Dive for Update 8

Sun Distinguished Engineer Glenn Brunette has created a new Solaris 10 Security Deep Dive training mediacast updated for Solaris 10 10/09 or Update 8. Items added to this new version include: ZFS user and group quotas, ZFS pre-defined ACL sets, NTPv4, and nss_ldap shadowAccount support. In addition, there was a bit of cleanup throughout and a new example was added for Trusted Extensions.

Content is available in both OpenDocument Format (ODF) and PDF. Brunette advises users of Microsoft Office to use the Sun MS Office ODF Plugin to read the source document.

According to Brunette, there have been nearly 8,000 downloads of this presentation. He encourages interested Solaris 10 users to download it since there are many new and updated security features and capabilities now available in Solaris 10. "If you have been away from Solaris (even Solaris 10) for a while, I am sure you will be shocked with what you can do today," he writes.
