Sun Storage 7410 Configurations Based on Six-core AMD Opterons
Increases Maximum RAM Support to 256GB Per Node

ATO configurations provide a system that is fully assembled and tested
 

New configurations for the Sun Storage 7410 offer six-core AMD Opteron processors for up to 256GB RAM per node. The Assemble-to-order (ATO) option provides a choice of three base configurations consisting of a fixed number of processors and RAM.

MAIN FEATURES

Sun Storage 7410 Unified Storage System

  • Single controller and Cluster controller (2-node) options
  • Up to four six-core CPU, and up 256GB per node (512GB for cluster)
  • Up to 600GB of Read Flash Accelerator (Readzilla) per node
  • up to 288 TB raw capacity (576TB when 2TB drive available)
  • 4x10/100/1000 Ethernet per node
  • Redundant, Hot-Swap Power Supply
  • 2 RU (Single), 4 RU (Cluster)

Fixed Configurations

The three fixed configurations (for single and cluster) consist of:

  • Two six-core processors with 64GB RAM
  • Four six-core processors with 128GB RAM
  • Four six-core processors with 256GB RAM

Storage Array for Sun Storage 7410 System

  • Options with 1, 2, and 4x 18GB Write Flash Accelerators (Logzilla)
  • 24-drive 4U Storage Array
  • Up to 12 expansion arrays, for up to 288 TB raw capacity (576TB when 2TB drive available)

The Sun Upgrade Advantage Program does have a trade-in offer for customers interested in upgrading to the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage Systems.

With this announcement, Sun plans an end of life for the existing configurations using the four-core AMD processors. The last order date is December 4, 2009, with a last ship date of March 5, 2010.
