The Sun Flash Accelerator F20 PCIe Card is part of the Sun's FlashFire product family. It delivers up to 96 GB of solid-state disk capacity and 100K random read IOPS at 4 K without consuming any disk slots. It also provides 87,000 random write IOPS. The card contains a super-cap to ensure that there is power to write down the caches to the flashes. Performance specifications, which Sun notes are preliminary, include 1092 MB/s sequential read throughput and 494 MB/s for sequential writes 1024 K transfer size. In addition, it offers SAS connectivity for 8 drives, so when used in place of a normal SAS controller, nothing is lost and additional flash disks are gained. Ideal for databases, storage grids, HPC computing, among others, Sun Flash Accelerator F20 PCIe Card supports multiple operating systems and integrates with Solaris ZFS. More Information
