Remanufactured Systems Program Adds SL8500 Tape Library Bundles Discounted Pricing Drives Customers to Pre-owned Parts Supported by Sun July 15, 2009, Volume 137, Issue 3
Sun StorageTek SL8500 Tape Library Bundles are now part of the Sun's Used Parts Program, which offers customers the option of purchasing pre-owned parts at discounted rates. All of the StorageTek SL8500 Tape Libraries in Sun's Used Program are rebuilt and can be expected to deliver the same performance, reliability, quality and investment protection as new Sun StorageTek SL8500 Tape Library parts, the company reports. Pre-owned parts are ideal to support non-mission-critical applications, data and specific project types. Although used parts do not come with a warranty, Sun does back up all its used systems with a variety of support options to help ensure their continued operation and reliability. When a Sun used system is purchased, customers can elect to have SunSpectrum support services cover the product. Customers also become eligible for trade-in through the Sun Upgrade Advantage Program (UAP). Used products can be purchased on an as available basis.
