Early Access Version of Sun Ray Software 5 and Sun Ray Soft Client 1.0 Enhancements to Adobe Flash, Windows Server 2008
Get a rich, virtual Windows, Linux or Solaris OS desktop on Sun Ray clients with the Sun Ray Software. A new early access version has just been released, Version 5.0, that comes with the following new features:
Adobe Flash Acceleration: Improved frame rates and synchronized audio, video and animations playback for Sun Ray clients using Windows Remote Desktops. It is supported in Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Adobe Flash 9 content with all Adobe Flash plugins from version 9 and 10 and Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit) and Windows XP SP3 (32-bit). If these are not being utilized, the Flash runtime environment will not be accelerated and will continue to leverage existing RDP/X11 rendering.
Windows Server 2008 Support: Enables users to display applications within Windows Server 2008 in 32-bit color on Sun Ray clients. Windows Server 2008 Session Directory support is also included.
Sun Ray Soft Client Support: This software application enables connectivity to Sun Ray desktop sessions from a Windows laptop or desktop computer. It is an alternative to using a Sun Ray hardware client (DTU). The Sun Ray Soft Client is designed for end-users who do not fit the desktop thin client model or may need to connect from their existing laptop or desktop PC. For example, you can install the Sun Ray Soft Client on your computer at home and use it to log in to a Sun Ray server at your office. You can then access your programs and files as if you were working from your Sun Ray DTU at the office. The following Windows platforms are supported: Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7.
