Sun ODF Plug-in 3.1 for Microsoft Office Allows Microsoft Users to Make ODF their Default File Format
The Sun ODF Plugin for Microsoft Office gives users of this office productivity suite the ability to import and export to the Open Document Format (ODF), which is an OASIS and ISO/IEC international standard. The newest version is Sun ODF Plug-in 3.1 that offers three new features:
Support for Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2
The disabling of automatic user registration after it has been enabled
The disabling of automatic download and installation of product updates also after it has been enabled
The disabling of registration and product updates is important to businesses with large deployments of ODF Plug-in such as enterprises and governments.
With the Sun ODF Plugin, Microsoft Office users can read, edit and save to ODF. Conversion of the documents is two-way capable and transparent to the user with minimal additional memory footprint.
Sun ODF Plug-in 3.1 offers support for MS Office 2000/XP/2003/2007 (including Service Pack 2) and support for Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The Sun product is compatible with ODF 1.2 as well as older 1.x versions. It is available in 16 different languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Hungarian, Russian, Polish, Iberian, Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Dutch.
